External Hard Drive Woes

The external hard drive is toast!  We found out a few days ago that the info is not recoverable.  It took Mommy a few days to even post it because it is so disappointing.  We can send it away but it would cost at least $500 to $1000 to get the pictures off of it.  There were over 2500 pictures of me on there and 20 or so videos.  We still have the videos on another computer and all of my newborn pictures but everything else is just gone.  The only thing keeping Mommy sane is the fact that we have 20 photo albums of me with most of those pictures in them but the only photos we have from November 1 to January 10th are the ones we posted on my blog.  What makes Mommy so sad about that is the fact that we lost all the other birthday and Christmas pictures that were not posted, and there were a lot!

We are trying not to dwell on it and start a new collection of photos.  It was a hard lesson to learn so please everyone backup your external hard drives too, which seems to defeat the point of having one but apparently you should anyways!  Here is a shot from our new collection.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I haven’t been posting as much as I would like to because Mommy is busy.  Daddy’s business has been occupying her time more lately due to accounting reasons and also because another home inspector has joined Daddy’s business.  Once Mommy gets used to running things differently things should calm down a bit. 

In other news, Mommy is now the owner of a mini-van!  She thinks it’s ugly and the colour is horrible but it’s exactly what she wanted and it’s perfect for us.  I especially love the DVD player.  It’s only new to us, we bought it used but it has low mileage and is fully loaded.  When Daddy bought his brand new truck a few months ago he marveled at all the options that were in it and often teased Mommy that her SUV was the base model with hardly any options.  Now Mommy has more options in her van and doesn’t mind pointing that out to Daddy he he he!!

I Heart Faces - Textures

Finally we can participate in another challenge at I Heart Faces!  Head on over there to get a look at how everyone applied textures to their photos this week.  Mommy has been trying to learn more about textures this year, it was one of her resolutions for the new year. 

Still no external hard drive so Mommy decided to give my tubby time picture some texture to make it look like I might be in the shower. 

We Have A Spaghetti Situation…

Some things are meant to be eaten and some thing are meant to be worn… and some things are meant for both!!

I am back to my normal happy healthy self.  I am behind on my blogging because Daddy bought a new wireless printer and he has been monopolizing Mommy’s laptop trying to get it to work.  It doesn’t work yet… wireless that is, it works great with the cord lol!  I’m off to catch up with my bloggy friends, I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.

Dark Hardwood Floors…

Mommy is constantly telling Daddy how much she hates our dark hardwood floors because they are so hard to keep clean and everything on them shows up.  However, seeing my tiny footprints on them makes her smile, Mommy took this just one hour after she mopped the floor lol. 

Not The Best Weekend For Me

Friday was good, I was happy go lucky and feeling great.  Before Mommy put me to bed she told Daddy that I sounded like I might be coming down with something because my voice was changing a bit. 

Here I am Friday afternoon being silly and making faces.At 4:30 in the morning on Saturday Mommy woke up to me coughing and somewhat crying but I couldn’t even manage to cry!  I sounded like a seal barking and was having troubles breathing so we went to the ER right away because last year I sounded the exact same way and I had croup.  Well as it turns out I have it again this year.  I went from being fine to sounding awful in six and a half hours!  I was given an oral dose of steroids for the swelling in my through and sent home.  I sounded awful but I looked great and was acting happy (I was a big hit at the ER) on Saturday and enjoyed an evening with Uncle Dave and Aunt Amy and their Wii! 

This morning the cold has come in full force and I have been pretty mellow most of the day.  Despite my appearance in the following pictures I have managed to stay fairly happy and even had fun playing with Grandpa and Grandma for a while. 

Here’s how I looked today.

By this evening I was pretty pooped and didn’t have must energy left so I spent  most of the night on the couch with Mommy and Daddy just relaxing and snuggling.

So needless to say there will not be an I Heart Faces entry again this week.  We are bummed but I was definitely not feeling up to doing any family shots this weekend.

Finally it was time for a bath.  Mommy and I had already went around and cleaned up our mess and it was time to get me clean too!  Here are some bath time pics.

Painting Part I

Today we did some painting.  It was my first time and I did great until Mommy went to answer the phone.  When she came back I had paint on my pants and a bit on my cheek.  Mommy decided to let me paint whatever I wanted since it was washable and so was I!  I had lots of fun painting myself and parts of the house he he he!  I may have even painted Mommy a bit.  While I was covered in paint I ran up to her and gave her a big hug so I got some on her so she just let me paint her face too.  Sorry, no picture of that though LOL!

    

I Heart Faces – Happy Birthday!! Best Face Photo

It’s that time again!  I am still waiting on my external hard drive so I wasn’t able to enter the picture I wanted to.  Fortunately I was able to copy and paste this one so at least I can enter this week.  I was sad to miss out on last weeks theme but sometimes that’s just how it goes.   I took this shot on December 17th.  Taylor was standing in front of the patio doors just looking outside.  Her finger was in her mouth and I wasn’t sure what she was thinking but I knew she was contemplating something… perhaps which new toy to play with next, she just had a birthday the week before.

Speaking of birthdays… it is I Heart Faces 1 Year Birthday!!  It has been so much fun and so educational while participating in their weekly contests.  They post tutorials on photography, editing techniques and so much more.  I have learned so much and look forward to seeing everyone’s ideas and photos every week.  Thank you Angie and Amy for creating such a fabulous site and thanks to all who help you make it possible.  If you love pictures or if you are interested in learning more go to I Heart Faces to see for yourself.

Snow Pretty

This last week it has snowed so much!  Today we finally made it a whole day without snow… so far lol.  We spent a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa this week and on our way out one night we stopped so Mommy could snap a few shots of the horses with the snow on their backs.  I think they look so cute with their coats so soft and fuzzy.

We are still waiting on the external hard drive but Mommy uploaded these pictures to her laptop of our time spent outside this morning.  It was actually quite a bit colder out than we thought it would be.  Usually it isn’t that cold when it snows but today it was.  We only went out for about 15 minutes because my cheeks and nose were getting pretty rosy.  I hope it is nicer outside tomorrow because I want to play in all the snow that has been falling. 

 

NNNOOOOO!!

This isn’t my drawing of Mommy, we borrowed it from someone on Flickr.  It depicts her feelings very well though so we thought it was perfect lol!  Three days ago I may have been a little naughty and accidentally/on purpose made her external hard drive come crashing to the floor.  Mommy checked it out and it seemed to be running slowly but still working, the next day it worked a little but not too much and by last night it wasn’t working at all. 

Mommy called her computer guy she used to work with and he says he can fix it (phew).  However it will take a few days and unfortunately it has every picture of me ever taken on it which means no I Heart Faces again this week… boo hoo!  I know we could still take some shots and get them in this week but it just wouldn’t be the same as the ones she was planning on doing and really there was no shot at winning anyways but it was all about the fun of it and seeing what everyone else was up to.  We will still try and see what others are doing and get inspiration from them.
